IBM provides a tool to quickly get your IBM i up and running on
the Internet with its downloadable Internet Setup Wizard. The wizard
guides you through any of the following three common scenarios:
- Connecting your IBM i as a Web and application server behind
a firewall and allowing access to it from the Internet.
- Connecting your IBM i as a Web and application server to a
DMZ outside a firewall and allowing access to it from the Internet.
- Directly connecting your IBM i to the Internet through a
dial-up connection.
You can download the Java-based wizard from
http://www.iseries.ibm.com/tcpip/iwizard.htm .
It's a big download of
about 15 MB. The three scenarios require HTTP Server to be installed,
as well as OS/400 at V4R4 and above. The first and second scenarios
also require WebSphere to be installed.
